Key Learning Centre Options vs Homeschool
When choosing our school’s Distributed Learning, Open Based Learning or Blended Program, a B.C. certified teacher manages your child’s educational program. This is different from Homeschooling, where the parent/facilitator is responsible for creating and delivering their child’s educational program.
Distributed Learning Program with the Key Learning Center:
Distributed Learning is a program that offers choice and flexibility outside of a regular classroom schedule
- Benefit 1: Flexibility in your learning schedule
- Benefit 2: Required lessons and text materials are supplied
- Benefit 3: Curriculum is Ministry of Education approved
- Benefit 4: Regular teacher assessments and marking
A teacher directed and resourced program.
Home Based Learning Program with the Key Learning Center:
Home Based Learning is a program that offers an opportunity for individualized programs where the learning goals are planned with considerable input with parents:
- Benefit 1: Flexibility in your learning schedule
- Benefit 2: Input in selecting educational goals
- Benefit 3: Curriculum is Ministry of Education approved
A self-directed program planned with parent, student, and teacher to suit individual needs.
Blended Learning Program with the Key Learning Center:
Blended Learning is a program that combines the traditional classroom experience with at home or online learning with some opportunity for flexibility of time, place, path or pace:
- Benefit 1: Some flexibility in your learning schedule
- Benefit 2: Required lessons and text materials are supplied
- Benefit 3: Curriculum is Ministry of Education approved
- Benefit 4: Regular teacher assessments and marking
