Skating Activity

Students from the Key Learning Centre have had the opportunity to meet with friends and classmates for some skating fun in February. Thank you to the generosity of the City of Fort St. John, our students have been able to take part in two skating opportunities this year at the Pomeroy Centre. For some of our students, it has been a chance to learn to skate. It has also been a chance for other students to practice and refine their skating skills. We had a lot of fun connecting with one another and getting some exercise.

STEM Activity – Egg Drop

Middle school students with the Key Learning Centre worked with their elementary school counterparts on a STEM activity to see who could design and build a device to keep a raw egg safe when dropped.  Students worked hard to use the supplied materials creatively and then held their breaths as their creation, containing the eggs, was dropped.  Many failures, some successes, and a lot of smiles and laughter were had by the students and staff.

ADST Fun: At our Primary Drop-in Playtime, students had some hands-on fun building, playing cards, and playing in the dirt.

Paint & Plant: At our Primary Drop-in Playtime, students had some hands-on fun painting spring flowers and planting seeds. They planted pumpkin seeds taken from pumpkins in October and planted some sunflower seeds.

Kori Meyer (and her mother Melanie) scored big at the Regional Indoor Championships!

Bronze for local archers – Read all about it!

Long Time Student at the Key Graduates

After being a student at the Key for over 40 years Ralph Woidack has finished with school and graduated.  Ralph had a wonderful ceremony to mark this accomplishment with a group of community members attending to help him celebrate the occasion.

It has been a privilege to have had Ralph with us for those many years and we will miss his positive attitude and ready smile.  From all of us at the Key, we wish Ralph the very best with the next part of what lies ahead.  Congratulations Ralph.
